The original Haus. A live-in residency in San Francisco for synthetic biology and general biotech founders — with a working community lab a short walk down the street, in the densest AI-and-bio cluster on earth.
San Francisco is where the Haus model was proven. Two houses, a working community lab, and a cohort already in residence.
T
Terrain
The SF Bay Area is the densest AI-and-biotech cluster on earth. Frontier Tower, a 16-floor building in SoMa, gathers labs and frontier-AI teams a short walk from the houses.
L
Lab
The BioPunk community lab moved its centrifuges, microscopes, and benches onto Frontier Tower's biotech floor in April 2025. It is a separate building a short walk from the house — residents walk down the street to the bench.
H
Houses
Four houses run in the city, all in a neighborhood format — co-living, co-working, communal kitchen, dry-lab and wet-lab workspace across a few blocks rather than one address.
C
Community
Office hours with mentors. Community dinners weekly. Frontier Tower alone runs 3+ events a day across AI, biotech, robotics, and longevity.
PunkHaus
Why it works
01
A lab, not just a desk
Biotech needs more than WiFi. Shared BSL-1/2 wet-lab access is the difference between an idea and a data package.
02
Founders in residence
Roughly 20 founders live in the house right now — half of them women, a rare ratio in deep-tech biotech.
03
The room is the network
Frontier Tower's neighbours are frontier-AI teams, robotics builders, and longevity researchers. The collisions are the point.

Come build in the house.
Applications for the next cohort are open. Founders move in, plug into the lab, and leave with a company.
